Any Koia Plant-Powered Protein Drink
There is no better season to travel and explore this beautiful world than during summer time. No needs to wonder about the weather or overpack to make all jackets and layers fit in. Summer is charming, it’s easy, sometimes breezy and definitely full of possibilities.
Before heading to your next adventure, consider a few tips that I learned after hitting many road trips through the east and west US coast and more than 13 countries visited.
Before anything, breakfast!
Have a good filling breakfast before you hit the route. My favorite of all times is chia seeds pudding because it can be made the night before! Chia seeds are packed with omega 3, fiber, and will keep you satisfied and hydrated for a few hours. I just recently learned that Koia is an amazing base for the pudding, besides it adds protein, healthy sweetener and grounding flavors that will keep you nourished and hydrated for longer.
RECIPE Overnight Chia Seeds
4 tablespoon chia seeds
1 cup your favorite Koia flavor
on a sealable container pour a full bottle of your favorite Koia flavor and add 4 tablespoons of chia seeds. Seal the container and shake it like you mean it for about 10 seconds. Let it sit for 5 minutes and return to shake it again to avoid any clump. This second step will guarantee a perfect pudding. Place your container in the refrigerator overnight until you are ready to eat next day.
Pro tip: add your favorite fruit and adaptogenic.

whether you are driving or flying to your next destination, it is much more cost efficient and healthy to stop by your favorite grocery store and pack a few snacks. Avoid nuts for flights. Airlines only inform passengers about allergies once everyone is fast seated and ready to go, I have made this mistake many times and ended up unable to open any of my food to prevent airborne reactions.
Pro tip: The TSA will allow you to bring real food to eat on any flight as long as its dry. Vegan wraps are my favorite for being easy to make at home and to eat in public spaces.
BYOU. Bring Your Own Utensils
About 300 million tons of plastic are produced globally each year. Only about 10% is recycled. It is unbelievable the amount of plastic each one of us consumes in a lifetime. So much we consume and so much we waste for so little time. Plastic silverware and straws require an incredible amount of resources to be produced, and instead of using it mindfully, we take the false privilege to use it for a meal.
We need to call for full responsibility and ask how are we living on this earth. Some cities may provide environmental friendly to go wear, but most of the places, unfortunately, don’t. Instead of adding pollution, bring the solution.
Pro tip: travel with your own reusable utensils. I always travel with bamboo utensils and a bamboo straw and try to reuse or recycle any plastic bottle as much as possible.
Locals know more. Head to the farmers market or street fairs.
Hitting the streets is an amazing way to meet local people, discover the traditional food and try seasonal fruits and vegetables. Different cities and countries will offer a variety of produce that you may never hear or tasted before. You can also ask locals where to go for more authentic food, music and discover the best spots in town.
Pro tip: Ask clearly for what you wish to see and experience. Once I explain to local people the kind of tourism that I love, which is actually avoiding all the tourist attractions, I am always surprised by all the gems and tips I receive. Be honest about who you are and ask! You shall receive and have the best memories ever made.
