When was the last time you read the ingredient label?!

Knowing the deets behind your protein shake can empower you to make healthier choices, so let’s break down the ingredients!

As a dietitian, I always focus on the order that ingredients are listed. The ingredients used in the greatest amounts are listed first, followed by those in smaller quantities! For example, almond milk is listed first, so it’s present in the highest amount, followed by Koia’s proprietary protein blend!

Protein Blend (brown rice protein, pea protein, chickpea protein)

Some plant proteins lack certain essential amino acids, making them incomplete proteins. Koia’s got this covered by combining brown rice protein, pea protein, chickpea protein to make a complete protein! This blend ensures that you are hitting your protein goals to help you build and maintain muscle mass!

Chicory Root

Chicory root is a fiber powerhouse! It’s loaded with inulin which acts like a prebiotic. Prebiotic feeds the good bacteria in your gut, supporting not only digestion but also helping you manage your weight and boost your immune system!

Agave Fiber

Agave fiber is used in Koia shakes as a source of dietary fiber to… keep things moving! This will support a happy and regular digestive tract!

Natural flavors

Say buh-bye to artificial flavors and hello to natural flavors! Koia uses natural flavors, which are substances derived from natural sources, like plants or animals! This improves flavor and aroma in shakes!

Locust Bean Gum & Gellan Gum

Both locust bean gum and gellan gum serve as natural thickeners and stabilizers in Koia shakes! These two ensure your shake stays smooth and well mixed, without any weird ingredient separation!

SunFlower Lecithin

Sunflower lecithin is added to enhance the texture and mixability of these shakes, providing smooth and creamy consistency!

Monk Fruit

For a touch of sweetness, Koia uses monk fruit and stevia (in certain flavors), which are all natural, plant-based sweeteners that won’t mess with your blood sugar levels!

Potassium Citrate (Cold Brew + Chocolate Peanut Butter)

Lastly, potassium citrate is present in some flavors to give you a boost of electrolytes! This is great for a post workout snack since you get the protein to aid in muscle repair and replenish electrolytes lost through exercise!

Koia’s protein shake ingredients reflect a thoughtful approach to plant-based nutrition! From the complete protein blend to the gut-supporting ingredients, Koia shakes are a fabulous choice for anyone looking for a delicious and nutritious blend to support their nutrition and fitness goals!
